Mephisto strikes a bargain with the Flying Dutchman in hopes of get his hands on the Silver Surfer's soul. He endows the Flying Dutchman with powers that will match those of the Surfer and renames him the Ghost. The Ghost sets out on his flying ship and rampages across New York to get the Silver Surfer's attention.
