Matt Murdock takes a cruise to escape the troubles in his life, however, the cruise ship is boarded by the Plunderer and his pirates. The ship is robbed and Daredevil, who had resisted their boarding, is captured. The Plunderer returns to his secret base in the Savage Land where they're attacked by Ka-Zar and Zabu. Daredevil is hurt in the battle and has lost his powers. Ka-Zar, who is forced to retreat, takes Daredevil to safety and sets out to find medicinal herbs.
