A small-time gangster stumbles upon a mysterious ray gun that allows him to hypnotize anyone that he uses it on. He hypnotizes the Justice League and auctions off their talents to the local mob bosses. After playing around with their toys, the mob bosses decide that it's best to get rid of the JLA and they're put into death traps. Fortunately, the JLA work together to free themselves and learn that Snapper Carr has come to their rescue and taken the Cyberniray from the small-time gangster.
